Tell us something about yourself...
My name is Boris Klohna. I am a lifelong Prešov citizen born in 1968. My disability is spinal muscular atrophy, I use an electric wheelchair, and practically from birth I have to rely on another person for all self-service activities.

How long and how intensely you have been involved in BOCCIA? What does boccia mean to you?
I have been involved in Boccia since 2013, when I founded the ZOM Presov sports club with my friends, which currently brings together 21 players in all five categories. Personally, I am nationally and internationally classified in the BC3 class. I use a boccia ramp, head pointer and the necessary help of my sports assistant (teammate) in competitions Michal Kall for playing. My friends Ľubo Svat, Matúš Grega, Jožko Fejerčák and others assist me in the preparation and training. During the season we train two or three times a week in the premises of our association on Masarykova street, where we have one correct court, or in the reconstructed barrier-free gymnasium at the elementary school of Matica Slovenská in Prešov.

What results have you achieved in boccia so far?
Our season consists of Slovak league tournaments and championships, official international BISFed events, but we are also very happy to participate in the so-called. friendly tournaments with a high level in the Czech Republic, Poland and our Boccia Tatra Cup in Slovakia. In my sports account I have three titles of Slovak champion in single category and one in pairs, participation in world and European BISFed cups with some medal catch in pairs BC3 (silver Poznan 2018, gold Zagreb 2019) together with representative colleague Adam Burianek and our assistants.

How does your sports equipment help you win?
For my game (sport performance), the quality of equipment is one of the most important aspects, so I pay proper attention to it. Currently I use Victory balls, which are also distributed by BASHTO SPORTS. We have been working closely with this company for a long time in the development and testing of new types of frames and other equipment.

Could you briefly describe, how you perceive the situation in BOCCIA in Slovakia?
Boccia in Slovakia has a high to world standard. It is the task of our players, but also of all others around it, to try to keep this state in the future and not to rest on our laurels. In addition to honest hard preparation, it is important to constantly promote boccia, create conditions for development and seek out new players.

Do you have any beads, interesting facts or funny experiences about BOCCIA?
I do not have many funny stories of "shooting" during boccia, but I am certainly experiencing a lot of pleasant moments and joy of winning, cheering, friendship or meeting new places and people.

What other activities and hobbies do you have besides BOCCIA?
I am a statutory and employee of the civic association ZOM Prešov, which in addition to the sports club also operates social services (counseling, personal assistance agency, transport service), organizes various cultural, social, sporting events, recondition stays, realizes various barrier-free environment projects. That is why we consider boccia to be the essence of all our efforts to create the conditions for an independent, responsible life for a person with disabilities. It includes assistance, aids, mobility, accessibility, impact on the general public, promotion of personality and responsibility regardless of the extent of disability. In addition to boccia, we also focus on chess, presentation of other para sports, motivation and providing positive examples.

What are your sporting and life goals for the future?
I would like to stay at boccia for as long as my health and other circumstances allow me to experience as the most winning emotions. I want to continue contributing to that the magic of boccia can be discovered by as many people as possible.

Thank you for your interview. We wish you lots of sporting achievements and life victories.
